    حُضَيْر الكَتَائب (٠٠٠ - ٥٠ ق هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٦١٧ م) حضير بن سماك بن عتيك بن امرئ القيس، من الأوس: شجاع، من الأشراف في الجاهلية. من سكان (المدينة)ويُنعت بالكامل (لإجادته الكتابة والعوم والرمي) مدحه خفاف بن ندبة بأبيات. وكان رئيس الأوس وقائدها يوم (بعاث) في آخر وقعة للأوس مع الخزرج، وقتل في ذلك اليوم (١) .
