الحُسَين المُؤَيَّدي (٠٠٠ - ١٢٥٢ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٨٣٦ م) الحسين بن علي المؤيديّ الحسني اليمني، ينتهي نسبه إلى المؤيد باللَّه عليّ: أمير. نشأ بصنعاء نشأة علمية. وخرج منها (سنة ١٢٤٧ هـ مع الإمام أحمد بن علي السراجي. ثم عاد إليها. ودعاه أهل صعدة إلى بلادهم، فأجابهم (سنة ١٢٥١ هـ وذهب معه بعض علماء صنعاء. فلما وصل إلى صعدة طلب منه أن يتلقب بالخلافة، فامتنع. واستمرت له الإمارة إلى أن توفي بهجرة حيدان (٣) .
