    ابن الشَّهيد الثاني (٩٥٩ - ١٠١١ هـ = ١٥٥٢ - ١٦٠٢ م) الحسن بن زين الدين الشهيد الثاني ابن علي بن أحمد الشامي العاملي، أبو منصور: فقيه إمامي، له علم بالأدب والشعر. ولد في جبع (من قرى جبل عامل، بلبنان) وانقل إلى النجف (في العراق) فأقام زمنا. وعاد إلى جبع فتوفي بها. من كتبه (منتقى الجمان في الأحاديث الصحاح والحسان - خ) مجلدان منه، في العبادات ولم يتمه، و (معالم الدين) ظهر منه جزآن أحدهما (معالم الأصول - ط) في أصول الفقه، والثاني (معالم الفقه - ط) في الفروع، وله (التحرير الطاووسيّ) في الرجال، و (مناسك الحج) و (مجموع - خ) في الأدب، و (ديوان شعر) كبير (٢) .
