حجز بن عَدِيّ (٠٠٠ - ٥١ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٦٧١ م) حجر بن عدي بن جبلة الكندي، ويسمى حجر الخير: صح أبي شجاع، من المقدمين. وفد على رسول الله ﷺ وشهد القادسية. ثم كان من أصحاب علي وشهد معه وقعتي الجمل وصفّين. وسكن الكوفة إلى أن قدم زياد بن أبي سفيان واليا عليها فدعا به زياد، فجاءه، فحذره زياد من الخروج على بني أمية، فما لبث ان عرفت عنه الدعوة إلى مناوأتهم والاشتغال في السر بالقيام عليهم، فجئ به إلى دمشق فأمر معاوية بقتله في مرج عذراء (من قرى دمشق) مع أصحاب له. وخبره طويل (٢)
