أَبُو الفَرَج اليبرُودي (٠٠٠ - ٤٢٧ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٠٣٥ م) جورجس بن يوحنا بن سهل بن إبراهيم، أبو الفرج: طبيب، سرياني الأصل، من نصارى اليعاقبة. ولد ونشأ في يبرود (من أعمال دمشق) وإليها نسبته. وانتقل إلى دمشق فتعلم الطب. ورحل إلى بغداد، فقرأ على أبي الفَرَج ابن الطَّيب، الطبيب الفيلسوف، ثم عاد إلى دمشق، فأقام إلى أن توفي فيها. كتب بخطه كثيرا من كتب الطب ولا سيما كتب جالينوس وشروحها. وله رسائل، منها رسالة في (أن الفرخ أبرد من الفروج) (٢) .
