    جميل مردم (١٣١١ - ١٣٨٠ هـ = ١٨٩٤ - ١٩٦٠ م) جميل بن عبد القادر مردم بك: وزير دمشقي من رجال السياسة. تعلم بفرنسة وكتب منها الى صحف دمشق بإمضاء (طالب سياسة) ، ثم كان مستشارا خاصا للأمير فيصل بن الحسين في دمشق (١٩١٩) وحكم الفرنسيون بإعدامه لما دخلوا سورية (١٩٢٠) فأقام في القاهرة ١٢ عاما. وعاد إلى دمشق، فكان وزيرا للمالية. واستقال (١٩٣٩) وهمّ الفرنسيون باعتقاله في تهمة ففر إلى العراق. ثم عاد إلى دمشق فكان في عهد القوتلي وزيرا للخارجية. وترأس الوزارة ثلاث مرات. وتوفي بالقاهرة ونقل الى دمشق (٢) .
