جُبْران التُّوَيْني (١٣٠٧ - ١٣٦٧ هـ = ١٨٩٠ - ١٩٤٧ م) جبران بن أندراوس التويني. أبو الوليد: كاتب لبناني. ولد وتعلم ببيروت. وابتدأ حياته منضّد حروف. وأقام بباريس ٣ سنوات وبمصر ١٢ سنة. وعاد إلى بيروت سنة ١٩٢٣ فاشترك في إنشاء جريدة (الأحرار) اليومية. وولي وزارةالمعارف والفنون الجميلة سنة ١٩٣٠ - ١٩٣٢ م ثم أصدر جريدة (النهار) يومية. وما زالت تصدر. وكان من أعضاء مجلس النواب اللبناني سنة ١٩٣٧ - ١٩٣٩ وعين بعد استقلال لبنان وزيرا مفوضا في الأرجنتين. فتوفي بسنتياغوشيلي، ونقل جثمانه إلى بيروت (١) .
