    الأَهْيَف بن حَمْحَام (٠٠٠ - ٢٨٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٨٩٣ م) الأهيف بن حمحام الهنائي: قائد شجاع، من إباضية عمان، كان رئيس قومه (بني هناءة) وولي قيادة جيش عزان ابن تميم (أحد أئمة الإباضية) وقاتل من خالفه إلى أن قتل عزان (انظر ترجمته) فنهض الأهيف يريد الأخذ بثأره، وجمع حشدا " من رجالات عمان، فقاتل المسمى محمد بن بور (عامل المعتضد العباسي في البحرين) وكان قد توغل في أراضي عمان، وعلم ابن بور بزحف الأهيف، فخافه وانقلب يريد (البحرين) فطمع الأهيف به، فلحقه وأدركه في مكان يدعى (دما) فاقتتل جيشاهما، وتراجع ابن بور إلى الشاطئ فوصلت إليه نجدة حملت على الأهيف فانهزم أصحابه وقتل مع كثير من عشيرته (١) .
