ابن رُمَيْلَة (٠٠٠ - بعد ٨٦ هـ = ٠٠٠ - بعد ٧٠٥ م) الأشهب بن ثور بن أبي حارثة بن عبد المدان النهشليّ الدارميّ التميمي: شاعر نجديّ. ولد في الجاهلية، وأسلم، ولم يجتمع بالنبيّ ﷺ وعاش إلى العصر الأموي، وهجا غالبا (أبا الفرزدق) فهجاه الفرزدق، وضعف الأشهب عن مجاراته. وذكره المرزباني في من وفد على الوليد بن عبد الملك. نسبته إلى أمه (رميلة) وكانت أمة اشتراها أبوه في الجاهلية (٢) .
