ابن المِطْران (٠٠٠ - ٥٨٧ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١١٩١ م) أسعد بن إلياس بن جرجيس، موفق الدين ابن المطران: طبيب باحث وجيه. من أهل دمشق، أسلم في أيام صلاح الدين الأيوبي، وعلت مكانته عنده. اجتمعت له خزانة كتب حافلة، وصنف كتبا قيمة منها (بستان الاطبااء وروضة الألباء) بقي منه الجزء الثاني، و (المقالة الناصرية في التدابير الصحية - خ) ٩١ ورقة ألفه برسم الملك الناصر صلاح الدين الأيوبي. في مكتبة أحمد الثالث (٣) .
