    الأب أَرملة (١٢٩٧ - ١٣٧٤ هـ = ١٨٧٩ - ١٩٥٤ م) إسحاق أرملة، من رهبان السريان الكاثوليك: باحث سرياني الأصل. له كتابات في الصحف والمجلات كالمشرق والبشير وغيرهما. ولد وتعلم في (ماردين) ودخل (دير الشرفة) سنة ١٨٩٥ وأصبح (كاهنا) سنة ١٩٠٣ وعاد إلى بلده، فأقام مدة الحرب العامة الأولى ثم استقر في بيروت (سنة ٢٣) وتوفي بها.من كتبه المطبوعة: (الحروب الصليبية في الآثار السريانية) و (الطرفة في مخطوطات دير الشرفة) فهرست لها، و (نصارى غسان والسريان) و (الرتب الكهنوتية في الطائفتين المارونية والسريانية) و (أسرة آل طرزي) و (أنباء الزمان في جثالقة المشرق ومفارنة السريان) و (القصارى في نكبات النصارى) (١) .
