    ابن القِطّ (٠٠٠ - ٢٨٨ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ٩٠١ م) أحمد بن معاوية بن محمد بن هشام: من بيت الخلافة الأموية في الأندلس. كان أديبا عالما بالهئية والنجوم، شجاعا. خرج في أيام الأمير عبد الله بن محمد يطلب الدولة ويظهر الجهاد. فاجتمع حوله نحو ستين ألفا أكثرهم من البربر، فهاجم بهم جليقية (Galice) وكتب إلى ملكها ومن معه يدعوهم إلى الإسلام، فقاتلوه، فخذله رؤساء البربر، وثبت هو في من بقي معه إلى أن قتل. ونصب رأسه على باب سمورة (٢) .
