    ابن قاطِن (١١١٨ - ١١٩٩ هـ = ١٧٠٦ - ١٧٨٥ م) أحمد بن محمد بن عبد الهادي، المعروف بابن قاطن: قاض يماني عالم بالتراجم والأسانيد. ولد في حبابة، ونشأ في شبام، وتوفي بصنعاء. ولي القضاء مرات. وحبس في أيام العباس (المهدي) مرتين. من كتبه (قرة العيون في أسانيد الفنون) و (الإعلام بأسانيد الأعلام - خ) بالمكتبة المتوكلية بصنعاء وبمكتبة الحبشي بحضرموت، وكتابه (تحفة الاخوان بسند سيد ولد عدنان (مخطوط في المكتبة المتوكلية (٩٣ ورقة) و (نفحات الغوالي بالأسانيد العوالي) و (تحفة الإخوان) في سند صحيح البخاري، و (مختصر الإصابة) لابن حجر، و (إتحاف الأحباب) أدب، وكتاب في (تراجم أهل عصره) (٣) .
