العَطّار الأَحْمَدي (١٢٧٧ - نحو ١٣٣٥ هـ = ١٨٦١ - نحو ١٩١٦ م) أحمد بن عثمان بن علي جمال العطار الأحمدي، أبو الخير: محدّث، عالم بالرجال، هنديّ الأصل، مولده ووفاته بمكة. قام برحلات في سبيل الحديث وروايته. من كتبه (در السحابة في صحة سماع الحسن البصري من جماعة من الصحابة) و (حصول المنى بأصولالألقاب والكنى) و (إتحاف الإخوان - ط) في أسانيد فضل الرحمن، و (حاشية على الأمم للكوراني - خ) و (النفح المسكي في شيوخ أحمد المكيّ) ترجم فيه لسبعين من مشايخه. وانقطع خبره في الحرب العامة الأولى (١) .
