    حِشْمَتْ باشا (١٢٧٥ - ١٣٤٤ هـ = ١٨٥٨ - ١٩٢٦ م) أحمد حشمت بن حجازي، من آل عمر: وزير مصري. ولد في كفر المصيلحة (بالمنوفية) وتعلم بها وبالقاهرة.ودرس الحقوق في فرنسة. وتولى في مصر أعمالا متعددة إلى أن كان وزيرا للمالية سنة ١٩١٠ م فالمعارف سنة ١٩١٣ فالأوقاف في السنة نفسها. واليه يرجع الفضل في إدخال علم الصحة في المدارس المصرية وفي إنشاء روضة الأطفال ومدارس التدبير المنزلي. ونشط حركة الترجمة للكتب العلمية وتوفي بالقاهرة. له رسالة في التعليم بمصرسماها (من قديم الزمان إلى هذا الأوان -ط) وكتب بالفرنسية (التربية والتعليم - ط) (١) .
