ابن قاضي الْجَبَل (٦٩٣ - ٧٧١ هـ = ١٢٩٤ - ١٣٧٠ م) أحمد بن الحسن بن عبد الله بن قدامة، جمال الإسلام، شرف الدين، ابن قاضي الجبل: شيخ الحنابلة في عصره. أصله من القدس، ومولده ووفاته في دمشق. كان يحفظ ٢٠ ألف بيت من الشعر. طلب إلى مصر فدرّس في مدرسة السلطان حسن، وعاد إلى دمشق فولي بها القضاء سنة ٧٦٧ وتوفي وهو قاض. له مصنفات، منها (الفائق) في فروع الفقه، و (أصول الفقه) لم يكمله (٣) .
