الأَفْضَل شَاهنْشَاه (٤٥٨ - ٥١٥ هـ = ١٠٦٦ - ١١٢١ م) أحمد بن بدر الجمالي، أبو القاسم شاهنشاه الملقب بالملك الأفضل: وزير، مولده بعكا، خلف أباه في إمارة الجيوش المصرية. أرمني الأصل. داهية فحل الرأي شهم جيد السياسة. وطد دعائم الملك للآمر بأحكام الله العبيدي صاحب مصر، ودبر شؤون دولته فنقم عليه الآمر أمرا فدس له من قتله على مقربة من داره في القاهرة. وكانت ولايته ثمانيا وعشرين سنة، وأول من استوزرهالمستنصر جدّ الآمر (١) . أحمد البَدَوي = أحمد بن علي ٦٧٥
