    ومن الغرباء في هذا الباب سالم بن علي بن ثابت بن أبي يزيد الغساني اليماني: يكنى: أبا يزيد. قدم الأندلس مع أبيه تاجرا سنة ست عشرة وأربعمائة. وكان: من خيار المسلمين على طريقة قويمة من المتسننين حنبلي المذهب. وكان ذا رواية واسعة عن شيوخ بلده وغيرهم. حدث عنه أبو محمد بن خزرج وقال: أخبرنا أن مولده سنة إحدى وأربعين وثلاث مائة. وأنه ابتدأ بالسماع من العلماء سنة ستين وثلاث مائة. سرواس بن حمود الصنهاجي، يكنى: أبا محمد. سكن طليطلة وحدث بها عن أبي ميمونة دراس بن إسماعيل. وكان: من أصحابه، وكان معلما بالقرآن. حدث عنه الصاحبان وقالا: توفي في ربيع الأول سنة إحدى وتسعين وثلاث مائة.
