محمد بن محمد الأزهري محمد بن محمد بن علي الشيخ شمس الدين، أبو الطيب الحساني الغماري الأصل المدني المولد، والمنشأ المالكي، عرف بابن الأزهري، كان كثير الفضائل، حسن المحاضرة، صوفي المشرب، له ميل إلى كتب ابن العربي من غير غلو، له نظم، ونثر، نظم أرجوزة سماها لوامع تنوير المقام في جوامع تعبير المنام، دخل بلاد الشام قاصداً الروم، فدخل دمشق، وحلب، واجتمع به فيها ابن الحنبلي، فأخذ كل منهما من الآخر، وأجاز كل منهما الآخر، وكانت وفاته بالمدينة الشريفة سنة اثنتين وستين وتسعمائة رحمه الله تعالى.
