    ٥٣٩ - خطيب بَعلَبَكّ * الإمام، الخطيب الفصيح، المعمَّر، ضياء الدين عبد الرحمن ابن الخطيب عبد الوهاب بن عليّ بن أحمد بن عقيل، السُّلميّ، البَعْلي، الشافعي. ولد سنة أربع عشرة وست مئة. وسمع من أبي المَجْد القزويني كتاب "شرح السُّنة"، فكان خاتمة أصحابه. وسمع من: ابن اللَّتِّي، وابن الصَّلاح. وكان خيِّرًا متواضعًا، يخضب بالحُمْرة. سَمِعنا منه، وبقيَ في الخطابة بضعًا وخمسين سنة. توفّي في صفر سنة ثلاث وسبع مئة. سمعت خطابتَه مرات ببَعلَبَكّ.
