    ٢٢٤ - الكَرَّانِيُّ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ أَحْمَدُ بنُ مُحَمَّدِ بنِ عَاصِمٍ * الحَافِظُ، الإِمَامُ، المُجَوِّدُ، أَبُو عَلِيٍّ أَحْمَدُ بنُ مُحَمَّدِ بنِ عَاصِم الأَصْبَهَانِيّ الكَرَّانِي. وَكَرَّان محلَّة (٣) . سَمِعَ: عَبْدَ اللهِ بنَ مُحَمَّدِ بنِ النُّعْمَانِ، وَعِمْرَان بنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيْمِ، وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ بنَ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ، وَطَبَقَتهُم. وَعَنْهُ: أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ بنُ حَمْزَةَ، وَابْنُ المُقْرِئ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ بنُ مَرْدُوَيْه، وَعَلِيُّ بنُ مَيلَة، وَآخَرُوْنَ.وَكَانَ يفهَمُ وَيذَاكر وَيُؤلِّف. قَالَ ابْنُ مَرْدَوَيْه: ثِقَةٌ مَأْمُوْنٌ مُكْثِر. مَاتَ فِي رَبِيْعٍ الأَوَّلِ، سَنَةَ تِسْعٍ وَثَلاَثِيْنَ وَثَلاَثِ مائَةٍ.
