حمزة بن علي بن حمزة بن أبي الحجاج العدوي: أبو يعلى الدمشقي قدم حلب وتفقه معنا على شيخنا قاضي القضاة أبي المحاسن يوسف بن رافع بن تميم، وسمع منه الحديث ومن شيخنا أبي هاشم عبد المطلب بن الفضل الهاشمي، وأبي محمد عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن علوان وغيرهم، وحدث بدمشق ببعض حديثة. وأخبرني عبد المؤمن بن خلف الدمياطي أنه أخبره أن مولده في العشرين من سنة ست وثمانين وخمسمائة وتوفي وأنا بدمشق ليلة الاربعاء الثامن والعشرين منصفر سنة ست وحمسين وستمائة، ودفن يوم الاربعاء بمقبرة باب الصغير بدمشق.
