٤٨٥ - علىّ بن محمد بن علىّ أبو الحسن بن أبى زيد النحوىّ المعروف بالفصيحىّ [٢] من أهل أستراباذ، بلدة من أطراف خراسان. قرأ النحو على عبد القاهر الجرجانىّ، وبرع فيه حتى صار من أعرف أهل زمانه به.قدم بغداذ، واستوطنها إلى أن توفى بها. ودرس النحو بالمدرسة النظامية مدّة، وأخذ عنه الناس، وتخرّج به جماعة. سمع منه أبو طاهر أحمد بن محمد بن سلفة الأصبهانىّ ببغداذ، وقال: جالسته وسألته عن أحرف من العربية. توفى الفصيحىّ يوم الأربعاء ثالث عشر ذى الحجة من سنة ست عشرة وخمسمائة ببغداذ. وكان- ﵀ يكتب خطا صحيحا، رأيت بخطه شرح الحماسة للبيارىّ، وهى فى غاية الجودة والصحة.
