٤٥٧ - على بن الحضرمىّ النحوىّ [١] كان من سواحل إفريقية. فيه نباهة وفضل، وكان ربّما علّم فى بعض الأوقات. وكان بقربه رجل قد نظر فى النحو أيضا؛ فكانا يتراسلان بالمسائل فى النحو. ومما كتب به إليه علىّ بن الحضرمىّ: لما أتانى كتاب واضح حسن ... فى النحو منك أبا إسحاق قد صنعا كيما تغلّطنى فيه وتفحمنى ... ولست فى النّحو ممّن يبتغى الشّنعا أمسكت خوف مراء لست تحمله «٢» ... حلما ولم أك عنه ممسكا فزعا
