    ١٢٣ - إسماعيل الضرير النحوىّ البغداذىّ أبو علىّ [١] كان إماما فى هذا الشأن، تصدّر للإفادة ببغداذ، وحضر مجالس الوزراء، وكان خصيصا بالوزير أبى القاسم رئيس الرؤساء بن المسلمة «٥» وزير القائم. وسئل إسماعيل عن الوزير رئيس الرؤساء كيف تراه فى النحو؟ فقال: يتكلّم فيه كلام أهل الصّنعة، وسئل رئيس الرؤساء عن إسماعيل النحوىّ هذا فقال: ما أرى مفتوح الفكّ فى النحو إلا هذا المغمض العين. وكان إسماعيل هذا موجودا فى حدود سنة خمسين وأربعمائة «٦».
