    ١٠٥١١ - فضيل بن عياض الزاهد. • فضيل بن عياض. الزاهد، شيخ الحرم [خ، م، ت، س،] وأحد الأثبات، مجمع على ثقته وجلالته، ولا عبرة بما رواه أحمد بن أبي خيثمة، قال: سمعت قطبة بن العلاء يقول: تركت حديث فضيل بن عياض، لأنه روى أحاديث أذرى فيها على عثمان ﵁. فمن قطبة! وما قطبة حتى يجرح، وهو هالك. روى الفضيل ﵀ ما سمع فكان ماذا؟ فالفضيل من مشايخ الإسلام والسلام. مات سنة سبع وثمانين ومائة.
