[١٢٠٨] هشام بن معاوية أبو عبد الله الضرير الكوفي النحوي صاحب أبي الحسن الكسائي: كان مشهورا بصحبته وعنه أخذ النحو. وله من التصانيف مقالة في النحو تعزى إليه. وكتاب الحدود في العربية. وكتاب المختصر في النحو. وكتاب القياس فيه أيضا، وغير ذلك. كان إسحاق بن إبراهيم بن مصعب قد كلّم المأمون يوما فلحن في كلامه، فنظر إليه المأمون ففطن لما أراد وخرج من عنده وجاء إلى هشام بن معاوية وقرأ النحو عليه. مات هشام سنة تسع ومائتين.
