[١١٩٩] هبة الله بن الحسين، أبو بكر ابن العلاف الشيرازي: كان من أفراد الزمانفي عصره في أنواع العلوم نحويا إماما شاعرا فاضلا بارعا، ورد خراسان وما وراء النهر وسمع حماد بن مدرك وغيره، وسمع منه الحافظ أبو عبد الله ابن الحاكم وذكره في «تاريخ نيسابور» وأثنى عليه. مات بشيراز في رمضان سنة سبع وسبعين وثلاثمائة وقد نيّف على التسعين ولم تبيضّ له شعرة، وقال في ذلك: إلام وفيم يظلمني شبابي ... ويلبس لمتي حلك الغراب وآمل شعرة بيضاء تبدو ... بدوّ البدر في خلل السحاب وأدعى الشيخ ممتلئا شبابا ... كذي ظمأ يعلّل بالسراب فيا مللي هنالك من مشيبي ... ويا خجلي هنالك من شبابي
