[١١٤٧] مسعود بن علي بن أحمد بن العباس الصواني البيهقي أبو المحاسن: قال البيهقي في «الوشاح» : فخر الزمان وأوحد الأقران، ومن لا ينظر الأدب إلا بعينه، ولا يسمع الشعر إلا بأذنه، صنف تفسير القرآن. وشرح الحماسة. وصيقل الألباب في الأصول. والتوابع واللوامع في الأصول. والتذكرة أربع مجلدات. وأعلاق الملوين وأخلاق الاخوين مجلدان. والتنقيح في أصول الفقه. ونفثة المصدور ديوان أشعاره مجلد. مات في الثالث والعشرين من المحرم سنة أربع وأربعين وخمسمائة، وله: تكلّف المجد أقوام وقد سئموا ... منه وإنك مشغوف به كلف كأنك الدرة الزهراء في صدف ... والناس حولك طرّا ذلك الصدف
