[١١١٧] محمد بن مسعود أبو بكر الخشني الأندلسي الجياني المعروف بابن أبي الركب: نحوي عظيم من مفاخر الأندلس لغوي أديب شاعر، أخذ النحو عن ابن أبي العافية وروى عن أبي الحسين ابن سراج وأبي علي الصدفي وجماعة، وتصدر للاقراء. كان متقنا لمسائل سيبويه فرحل الناس إليه لقراءة «الكتاب» عليه، وانتقل بأخرة إلى غرناطة فأقرأ بها وولي الصلاة والخطبة بجامعها. وله شرح كتاب سيبويه.توفي في منتصف ربيع الأول سنة أربع وأربعين وخمسمائة. ومن شعره: بساط ذي الأرض سندسيّ ... وماؤها العذب لؤلؤيّ كأنها البكر حين تجلى ... والزهر من فوقها الحليّ
