    [١٠٦٠] محمد بن العباس أبو بكر الخوارزمي الشاعر المشهور: يقال له الطبرخزي لأنه كانت أمه من خوارزم وأبوه من طبرستان، وكان ابن أخت محمد بن جرير الطبري «١» . قال الحاكم في «تاريخه» كان أوحد عصره في حفظ اللغة والشعر، وكان يذاكرني بالأسماء والكنى حتى يحيرني من حفظه.... وقد أقام الخوارزمي بالشام مدة وسكن حلب وتوفي بنيسابور سنة ثلاث وثمانين وثلاثمائة ... (قال ياقوت) : قرأت في آخر ديوانه له: بآمل مولدي وبنو جرير ... فأخوالي ويحكي المرء خاله فها أنا رافضي عن تراث ... وغيري رافضي عن كلاله ..... [وجرت بينه وبين البديع الهمذاني مناقضات ذكرها ياقوت في كتاب معجم الأدباء في ترجمتيهما] .
