[١٠٠٣] محمد بن إسماعيل بن زنجي أبو عبد الله الكاتب: له نباهة وذكر في أيام المعتضد وإلى آخر أيام الراضي، وكان من جلة الكتاب ومشايخهم، معروف بجودة الخط، وله تصانيف: منها كتاب الكتاب والصناعة. كتاب رسائله. قال ابن شيران: مات محمد بن إسماعيل المعروف بزنجي الكاتب الأنباري في شوال سنة أربع وثلاثين وثلاثمائة: وكان متقدما في كتاب الانشاء والرسائل والكلام حسن المجلس، وله أخبار كثيرة حسنة.
