[٩٩٨] محمد بن إسحاق أبو عبد الله الشابشتي: صاحب خزانة كتب العزيز بن المعز بمصر والمتوالي عرضها، وكان من أهل الفضل والأدب، مات سنة تسع وتسعين وثلاثمائة للهجرة في أيام الحاكم بن العزيز وله عدة تصانيف منها: كتاب الديارات. كتاب اليسر بعد العسر. كتاب مراتب الفقهاء. كتاب التوقيف والتخويف. كتاب مراسلات. كتاب ديوان شعره. كتاب في الزهد والمواعظ.وقد اختلف في اسمه فرأيت أنا «كتاب الديارات» من تصنيفه وهو مترجم محمد ابن إسحاق كما ترى، ونقل لي بمصر بعض من اختبرت صحة نقله أنه أبو الحسن علي بن أحمد، والله أعلم.
