محمد بن أحمد بن إبراهيم الشنبوذي أبو الفرج المقرىء، يعرف بغلام ابنشنبوذ: مات سنة سبع وثمانين وثلاثمائة وقيل سنة ثمان ومولده في سنة ثلاثمائة. قال الخطيب: روى عن أبي الحسن محمد بن أحمد بن شنبوذ وغيره كتبا في القراءات، وتكلم الناس في رواياته، وسئل الدارقطني عنه فأساء القول فيه والثناء عليه. قال: وسمعت عبيد الله الصيرفي يذكر أبا الفرج الشنبوذي فعظم أمره ووصف علمه بالقرآن وحفظ التفسير وقال: سمعته يقول: أحفظ خمسين ألف بيت من الشعر شواهد للقرآن. وله من التصانيف: كتاب الشارة في تلطيف العبارة في علم القرآن. كتاب التفسير ولم يتم.
