علي بن محمد بن محمد بن علي بن السكون الحلي أبو الحسن: من حلة بني مزيد بأرض بابل، كان عارفا بالنحو واللغة حسن الفهم جيد النقل حريصا على تصحيح الكتب، لم يضع قط في طرسه إلا ما وعاه قلبه وفهمه لبه، وكان يجيد قول الشعر. وحكى لي عنه الفصيح بن علي الشاعر أنه كان نصيريا قال لي: ومات في حدود سنة ستمائة، وله تصانيف.[٨٣٦]
