شبيب بن شبة الأخباري الأديب الشاعر: صاحب خالد بن صفوان الذي تقدمت ترجمته في حرف الخاء [١] ، ولهما أخبار ومواقف مشهورة عند الخلفاء والأمراء. وكان بين شبيب وأبي نخيلة الراجز الشاعر صحبة ومودة. حدّث الأصمعي قال: رأى أبو نخيلة على شبيب حلّة فأعجبته فسأله إياها فوعده فقال فيه: يا قوم لا تسوّدوا شبيبا ... الخائن ابن الخائن الكذوبا هل تلد الذئبة إلا ذيبافلما بلغ ذلك شبيبا بعث إليه بالحلة وكتب إليه: إذا غدت سعد على شبيبها ... على فتاها وعلى خطيبها من مطلع الشمس إلى مغيبها ... عجبت من كثرتها وطيبها مات شبيب بعد المائتين. - ٥٨٤-
