أحمد بن أبي يعقوب إسحاق بن جعفر بن وهب بن واضح الاخباري العباسي: ذكره أبو عمر محمد بن يوسف بن يعقوب المصري الكندي المؤرخ في تاريخ له ابتدأه بسنة ثمانين ومائتين قال: إن أحمد بن إسحاق بن واضح مولى بني هاشم توفي في سنة أربع وثمانين ومائتين، وله تصانيف كثيرة منها: كتاب التاريخ كبير «١» . كتاب أسماء البلدان مجلد «٢» . وكتاب في أخبار الأمم السالفة صغير. كتاب مشاكلة الناس لزمانهم «٣» .
