أحمد بن الحسين يعرف بابن شقير أبو بكر : هو أحمد بن الحسين بن العباس بن الفرج النحوي، أخذ عن أحمد بن عبيد بن ناصح، وكان مشهورا برواية كتب الواقدي عن أحمد بن عبيد عنه، ومات في صفر سنة سبع عشرة وثلاثمائة في خلافة المقتدر، وهو في طبقة أبي بكر السراج. وله تصانيف منها: كتاب مختصر في النحو. كتاب المقصور والممدود. كتاب المذكر والمؤنث. قرأت في كتاب ابن مسعر [٢] أنّ الكتاب الذي ينسب إلى الخليل ويسمى «الجمل» أنه من تصنيف ابن شقير هذا، قال يقول فيه: النصب على أربعين وجها [٣] .- ٧٧-
