ومن بني ربيع: عسعس بن سلامة، وكان يكنى أبا صفرة، وكان له بالبصرة قدر وفضل.قال أبو اليقظان: وكان يقال لبني دينار من بني ربيع ركبة القلوص، جاؤوا مترادفين على قلوص فدخلوا عمان، ولا يدرى من أين جاؤوا. ومنهم: خليف بن عقبة وكان ظريفا، وإليه تنسب الفالوذجة الخليفية بالبصرة.
