قال وكان نوح بن جرير شاعرا، وكان يهاجي بشير بن دلجة الكليبي وكان أبو الزحف بن عطاء بن الخطفى شاعرا بقي إلى زمن محمد بن سليمان بن علي، ودخل عليه البصرة وهو سكران فقال له محمد: أنشدني، فلم يحضره شيء فقال: يا بن سليمان أقلني عثرتي … يا بن الملوك وابلعني ريقتي حتى تجلي عن فؤادي غمتي … ثم اجمع الرجاز عند صولتي كل فزاري دهين اللمة … أو بدوي وذح (¬١) ذي ثلة
