ومنهم: الأبرد بن قرة بن نعيم بن قعنب فارس العرب، وقد أخذ المرباع، وكان الأسود بن نعيم بن قعنب قدم المدينة على صهر له من قريش، فوقع بين صهره وبين رجل من بني ليث كلام فقتل الأسود الليثي ثم هرب حتى أتى ميسان فهلك بها، فقال جرير يرثيه: ألا يا لقوم ما أجنّت ركيّة … بميسان يحثى تربها فوق أسودا نمته القروم الصّيد من آل قعنب … وأورث مجدا في رياح وسؤددا (¬٣)
