عكاشة بن محصن (¬٣) بن حرثان بن قيس بن مرة بن كبير بن غنم بن دودان، ويكنى أبا محصن، أسلم قديما، وشهد بدرا وأحدا والمشاهد كلها، وبعثه رسول الله ﷺ في سرية إلى الغمر، وتوفي النبي ﷺ وهو ابن أربع وأربعين سنة، وقتل بعد ذلك بسنة ببزاخة، قتله طليحة بن خويلد، ولقيه وقد بعثه خالد بن الوليد طليعة، وكان النبي ﷺ دعا له أن يدخله الله الجنة، فلم يزل المسلمون يعلمون أنه سيدخلها.
