عباد بن ثعلبة بن منقذ بن جسر بن نكرة، وهو أنف الكلب كان غزا يوما فأتاهم وهم غارّون غافلون فقالوا: والله لكأنه استنشانا بأنف كلب، وقد رأس. وزعموا أن ابن أنف الكلب نافر بني فقعس إلى ضمرة بن ضمرة ورشاه فنفّر بني الصيداء على بني فقعس فزعموا أن تلك أول رشوة كانت في الجاهلية، وقال غير الكلبي: اسن ابن أنف الكلب خالد بن عباد.
