مالك بن قيس بن عوذ بن جابر بن عبد مناف بن شجع، وهو ابن البرصاء (¬٢)، والبرصاء أم أبيه، واسمها ريطة بنت ربيعة بن رباح بن ذي البردين من بني هلال بن عامر، وسميت البرصاء لبياضها. وروى ابن البرصاء أن النبي ﷺ قال يوم الفتح: «لا تغزى مكة بعدها إلى يوم القيامة».
