وعبد الله بن حذافة بن قيس أخو خنيس، أسلم وهاجر إلى الحبشة في المرة الثانية، وكان رسول الله ﷺ أرسله بكتابه إلى كسرى بن هرمز يدعوه إلى الإسلام، وأمره أيام منى أن ينادي: إنها أيام أكل وشرب، وكان عمرو بن العاص ولاه الاسكندرية، فأسرته الروم، فكتب عمر إلى قسطنطين يتوعده بأن يغزوه بنفسه إن لم يخل سبيل عبد الله بن حذافة فخلاه فمات عبد الله في أيام عثمان بن عفان.
