وأما عمارة بن الوليد بن المغيرة، فكان يكنى أبا فايد، وكان فتى قريش جمالا، وقالت قريش لأبي طالب: أعطنا محمدا وخذ إليك عمارة، فقال بئس ما سمتموني أدفع إليكم ابن أخي لتقتلوه وأخذ ابنكم فأغذوه. وقد كتبنا خبره وشخوصه إلى الحبشة مع عمرو بن العاص، وما فعل به الحبشي في أول كتابنا مع ذكر من هاجر إلى الحبشة ولا عقب له.
