وأما سهيل بن عبد الرحمن فله عقب بالمدينة، ومن ولده عتير بن سهيل وكان صاحب شراب. وفيه يقول السري بن عبد الرحمن بن عويم بن ساعدة الأنصاري: إذا أنت نادمت العتير وذا الندى … جبيرا ونازعت الزجاجة خالدا أمنت بإذن بالله أن تقرع العصا … وأن يوقظوا من نومة السكر راقدا وفي سهيل يقول عمر بن عبد الله بن أبي ربيعة: أيها المنكح الثريا سهيلا … عمرك الله كيف يلتقيانهي شآمية إذا ما استقلت … وسهيل إذا استقل يماني (¬١) وكان سهيل تزوج الثريا بنت عبد الله بن الحارث بن أمية الأصغر.
