وعبد الله بن سعيد وولده بالكوفة وواسط، هو الذي مدحه الأخطل فقال: فمن يَكُ سائِلاً ببني سعيدٍ … فعبد الله أكبرهم نصابا أيجمع نوفلاً وبني عكب … كلا الحيين أفلح من أصابا (¬١) فقال عبد الملك: كذب الأخطل، عثمان بن سعيد أكبرهم نصاباً. وأم عثمان بن سعيد ابنة عثمان بن عفان وولده بالكوفة، وأم عبد الله بنت جبير بن مطعم بن عدي بن نوفل بن عبد مناف، وأم أمه من بني عِكَبّ من بني تغلب.
