١١٧٩٦- مهدد بنت حمران بن بشر بن عمرو بن مرثد، والدة سنان بن علقمة بن حاجب، من رواية التميميّ. تقدم ذكر سنان وولده وجدّه في أماكنهم، ولهذه إدراك لا محالة، قرأت في مقدّمة كتاب الأنساب لأبي سعيد بن السّمعاني بسند له إلى يزيد بن سنان بن علقمة- أنه حج فلقي رجلا من بني مهرة، فانتسب له، فدار بينهما كلام إلى أن قال له المهريّ: فإن لعلقمة «١» ولدا واحدا يقال له سنان، وكنت أظنّه مات، فقلت: أنا يزيد ولده. قال: ممّن؟ قلت: من مهدد بنت حمران ... فذكر القصّة.
