    ٨٨٩٩- نهشل بن حري بن ضمرة بن جابر بن قطن بن نهشل بن دارم بن مالك بن حنظلة بن زيد مناه بن تميم. قال المرزبانيّ: شامي شريف مشهور مخضرم بقي إلى أيام معاوية، وكان مع علي في حروبه، وقتل أخوه مالك بصفين وهو يومئذ رئيس بني حنظلة، وكانت رايتهم معه، ورثاه نهشل بمراثي كثيرة منها قوله في قصيدة: وهوّن وجدي عن خليلي أنّني ... إذا شئت لاقيت امرأ مات صاحبه ومن ير بالأقوام يوما يروا به ... معرّة يوم لا توارى كواكبه [الطويل] قال: وأبوه شاعر شريف مذكور، وجد ضمرة سيد ضخم الشرف، وجد جده ضمرة شاعر شريف فارس، وكان من خير بيوت بني دارم.
